Geeks (well those that I’ve encountered in my lifetime) have one mutual characteristic – they are shy.  While some girls find this extremely cute (yes, yes I am one of those girls ) others don’t really find it all that appealing.  I think the main reason why they don’t find it appealing, is because they don’t really understand it.

Most jocks are usually very confident, so approaching girls is something they find quite easy.  Geeks on the other hand, find it difficult to express how they feel to girls.  The main reason why they find it daunting is because they actually give a damn.  They don’t just ask out a bunch of girls and chose one out of the YES-group, they rather focus on one very special girl.  Because geeks are generally kind and caring, they often become best friends with the girl they have feelings for.  Of course some girls exploit this (I would like to personally PWN said girls.)

It is very easy to talk to geeks as they are quite knowledgeable, caring and they have a HUGE vocabulary (jocks lack most, if not all, of these qualities.)  This might explain why it is so easy to become friends with them in the first place.  If you are friends with someone though, it is not fair to misuse that person.  If a guy offers to do everything for you, you don’t have to allow it.  Any friendship should be give and take and if you’re taking all the time, you should know there is a big problem.

It is very easy to notice whether someone has feelings for you and most girls can tell straight away if this is the case.  If you know your geek friend is into you, and you are into him, don’t talk to him about other cute guys in the hope of making him jealous and forcing him to act on his feelings.  It will have the opposite effect and he will end up getting hurt.  Don’t expect a geek to realise that you are into him if you don’t give him proper hints.  Hinting in general when it comes to geeks is just a bad idea because their sincere motives cloud their ability to notice the hints.  Just be honest and tell him how you feel.

The tone of this story has been quite serious, which is a little different to my normal stories.  I thought it might help to throw in some dragons and fairies just to spice things up a bit.  There once was a dragon called Drakus Meraldo.  He was a friendly creature and lived in a cave high up in the mountains.  He had a cute little fairy friend called Shakira…. and they all lived happily ever after.  PHEW!  Now that that’s out of the way, I would like to conclude my story by saying the following:

If you want a caring, loving boyfriend, get yourself a geek.  If you like a loud, obnoxious, annoying, stupid boyfriend, get yourself a jock.  If you know your geek friend has a crush on you, don’t exploit his kindness by expecting him to do everything for you.  It is nice to feel wanted and to get a lot of attention from guys, but is it really necessary to do so at the expense of someone else’s feelings?  Don’t toy with a geek’s emotions because you will make him lose all faith in girls.  Always, ALWAYS reverse the roles and ask yourself if you would have been happy if the guy of your dreams did the same to you.  Geeks are awesome <3
